Getting from Machu Picchu to Cusco by car takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. In August in Cusco, expect temperatures between 70°F during the day and 36°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Tue) early enough to fly to Lima.
