9 days in Tainan, Chiayi & Kaohsiung Itinerary

Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia) and Hayashi Department Store will appeal to history buffs. Get a sense of the local culture at Chimei Museum and Shennong Street. Step out of Tainan to go to Huwei and see Yunlin Story House, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Anping Tree House, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ji Dian Wu Miao, take a stroll through Guohua Street, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Anping Fort (Anping gubao).

Singapore, Singapore to Tainan is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. Traveling from Singapore in December, expect Tainan to be slightly colder, temps between 29°C and 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Chiayi.

Kick off your visit on the 30th (Mon): examine the collection at Museum of Ancient Taiwan Tiles, buy something for everyone on your list at Showtime Plaza, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiayi Confucian Temple, and finally stop by Shinkong Mitsukoshi Mall (Chiayi Chuiyang).

Traveling by car from Tainan to Chiayi takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Mon) so you can drive to Kaohsiung.

The Pier-2 Art Centre and Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Escape the urban bustle at Kenting National Park and Floating Palace. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kaohsiung: White Sand Bay (in Hengchun) and Fu'an Temple (in Checheng). There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Seaside Park and head outdoors with Ai He (Love River).

Traveling by car from Chiayi to Kaohsiung takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In December, plan for daily highs up to 29°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri) early enough to fly back home.
